Description
What is a Rocktherm™ Pipe Support?
ROCKTHERM™ Stone wool pipe support blocks are essential components in various industrial applications, specifically designed to provide support and thermal insulation for piping systems. Made from a base of rock, known as stone wool, this is a versatile material that offers a range of benefits, including excellent insulation properties and sound absorption. Understanding the features and advantages of ROCKTHERM™ stone wool pipe support blocks can help in making informed decisions for specific projects.
One of the primary benefits of ROCKTHERM™ stone wool pipe support blocks is their outstanding thermal insulation capabilities. ROCKTHERM™ stone wool pipe support blocks have a low thermal conductivity, which helps to minimise heat transfer between the piping system and the surrounding SUREFIX pipe clip or two bolt split band clip. This characteristic is particularly important in applications that involve warmer or cooler fluids, as it helps maintain the temperature of the transported medium, reducing energy loss and improving overall system efficiency. By using ROCKTHERM™ stone wool pipe support blocks, facilities can enhance energy conservation efforts, leading to lower operational costs.
In addition to thermal insulation, ROCKTHERM™ stone wool pipe support blocks are highly resistant. They can withstand higher temperatures compared to Kingspan phenolic pipe support blocks and hardwood block pipe supports without deteriorating, making them an ideal choice for applications where operating temperature is a concern. This resistance is crucial in industries such as oil and gas, chemical processing, and power generation, where the risk of these hazards is more significant. By incorporating ROCKTHERM™ stone wool pipe support blocks in to their systems, companies can improve safety and comply with stringent regulations.
Another advantage of ROCKTHERM™ stone wool pipe support blocks is their sound absorption properties. The fibrous structure of ROCKTHERM™ stone wool pipe support blocks helps to dampen sound transmission, making it an effective solution for reducing noise in piping systems. This feature is particularly beneficial in commercial and industrial settings where noise pollution can be a concern. By utilizing ROCKTHERM™ stone wool pipe support blocks, facilities can create a quieter working environment, enhancing comfort for employees and minimising disruptions.
ROCKTHERM™ stone wool pipe support blocks are also environmentally friendly. The material is made from natural rock, which is abundant and sustainable. By choosing ROCKTHERM™ stone wool pipe support blocks, companies can demonstrate their commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Installation of ROCKTHERM™ stone wool pipe support blocks is straightforward and can be customised to fit various pipe sizes and configurations. They are typically designed to accommodate thermal concerns and are secured using our Surefix dual boss pipe clip or Surefix two bolt split band clip, ensuring that the piping system remains stable and secure during temperature fluctuations. Proper installation is essential to maximise the performance of ROCKTHERM™ stone wool pipe support blocks, and following manufacturer guidelines is crucial for achieving optimal results.
Moreover, ROCKTHERM™ stone wool pipe support blocks are lightweight compared to traditional hardwood block pipe supports, making them easier to handle and install. This lightweight nature reduces the overall load on the structural framework of buildings, which is an important consideration in design and construction. The ease of installation also translates to reduced labour costs and shorter project timelines.
In summary, ROCKTHERM™ stone wool pipe support blocks offer a range of benefits that make them a valuable choice for supporting piping systems in various industries. Their excellent thermal insulation, heat resistance, sound absorption, and environmental sustainability make them an ideal solution for enhancing the efficiency and safety of piping systems. By selecting ROCKTHERM™ stone wool pipe support blocks, engineers and contractors can ensure the longevity and reliability of their installations, ultimately leading to improved performance and reduced operational costs.
Manufacturing Process:
The Rocktherm™ thermal pipe support inserts are manufactured from Paroc Pro Slab with a density of 200kg/m3 as standard, an aluminium foil vapour barrier is then adhered to the outer surface with an aqueous inorganic,
non-combustible adhesive.
Dimensional Stability:
Although the material has a maximum service temperature of 660°C and maintains dimensional stability in slab form, the maximum service temperature for dimensional Stability as a pipe insert is 250 °C
